1/ Which Hospital Earns Most ARPOB?

Max earns ₹82,000 a day from every occupied bed. Narayana earns ₹52,600.

Same country. Same quarter. A 56% gap. ARPOB is inpatient revenue divided by occupied bed days. But which beds? Every hospital reports several counts.

Licensed or capacity beds are what it is approved to run. Operational beds are the ones actually functional, staffed and equipped.

Census beds are inpatient beds counted for occupancy. Non-census beds like emergency, day-care, dialysis, endoscopy and recovery are left out. Occupied beds are census beds with a patient in them.

2/ Insurance Cos want policyholders to pay 10% of health claims

You paid your health insurance premium every year.
So why should you still have to pay ₹40,000 when you need it?

A proposal for a 10% co-pay on health insurance claims is being discussed by the insurance industry.

The argument is to control rising hospital bills and overbilling.

3/ Top 5 Startups in MedTech

Cloudphysician: Cloudphysician brings ICU specialists to hospitals that don’t have them. Its AI-powered RADAR platform uses cameras, computer vision and patient data to monitor ICU beds 24/7 from a remote command centre, flagging risks like falls and pressure ulcers early.

Sunfox Technologies: Sunfox Technologies’ Spandan is a pocket-sized, smartphone-based device that runs a 12-lead ECG without a bulky machine. Built in India, it’s already used by 30,000+ people across 20 countries.

Lifespark Technologies: WALK is a discreet fabric band worn on the lower thigh that uses muscle stimulation to help people with Parkinson’s walk with more confidence. Born at IIT Bombay’s incubator, it’s already used by nearly 300 families across India.

VolTrac Accubits Invent: VolTrac is a patented, non-invasive breath sensor that reads disease signatures in exhaled air, screening for conditions like cancer, TB and metabolic disorders in under 90 seconds. It’s built to work in clinics, schools and even airports.

DreaMed: DreaMed’s Advisor Pro is AI software that reads glucose monitor and insulin pump data and recommends how a clinician should adjust a patient’s insulin therapy. It’s FDA-cleared for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

4/ New Frontiers: Rising HealthTech Pioneers

Aignosis is a Jaipur-based startup that uses a webcam and AI to screen children aged 16 months to 9 years for early signs of autism. It flags who needs a full assessment rather than diagnosing, and it is CDSCO-approved. It’s already running in 20+ government primary health centres in Rajasthan, equipping paediatricians to catch developmental delays early where specialists are scarce.

Dozee turns an ordinary hospital bed into a continuous monitor, using an under-mattress sensor and AI to track heart rate, breathing, blood pressure and sleep without wires or wearables. Its early warning system alerts nurses when a patient’s vitals start to slip, before it becomes an emergency. It has US FDA 510(k) clearance and is used in around 300 hospitals, 280 of them in India.
