HealthTech Innovation: Amoul i7/i9

Amoul's i7/i9 is an automated external defibrillator built to get a shock into a cardiac arrest patient before it's too late. Using biphasic energy that climbs up to 360J, and it reads the heart's rhythm while charging instead of after, saving the seconds that matter most. The i9 adds a 7-inch HD display that walks an untrained bystander through defibrillation and CPR step by step. IP65-rated, this thing can sit in a gym or an office lobby just as easily as a hospital crash cart. What it's really built for is the gap before the ambulance shows up, the minutes when survival odds are dropping fast.

1/ Fortis is Investing Rs 567 Crore in a Hospital it won’t Own. Here’s Why…

Why would Fortis lend ₹567 crore to a hospital it doesn’t own?

Fortis Healthcare’s wholly owned subsidiary, Fortis Hospital has signed a 29 year Healthcare Services Agreement with Seth Sunder Lal Jain Charitable Eye Hospital Society for a planned 400+ bed super-speciality hospital in Ashok Vihar, Delhi.

The hospital will be owned, developed and managed by SLJ Society.

Fortis, on the other hand will have long term exclusive rights to provide specified healthcare services including clinical manpower and specialised equipment such as Cath Labs, LINAC, PET-CT and surgical robots.

2/ India is Building Hospitals but Who is Going to Run Them?

India will face a shortage of doctors to run its expanding healthcare infrastructure.
A new WHO report says nearly 1 in 4 doctors globally is over 55 and could retire within the next decade.

In high-income countries, it's almost 1 in 3 and globally, WHO projects a shortage of 11.1 million health workers by 2030.

4/ New Frontiers: Rising HealthTech Pioneers

MedGate GPT is a healthcare AI assistant built for India's fragmented medical information landscape, answering questions on doctors, hospitals, labs, medicines, and health policy in any language. It also works as a clinical reference tool for professionals, covering drug guidelines and literature, and can be embedded into a hospital or clinic's own site via API or chat widget.
